Sping is here I am starting to buzz myself....

I know Spring isn't "techincally here" but oh it is-- We've had some georgous weather-- we've had flowers bloom in our flowerbeds and bees already visiting them, we've had our first snake in the basement, and I have boys who are covered from HEAD to TOE in MUD!!

We are heading out to pick up 3 pregnant doe's (goats) on Sunday afternoon- due to kid in April-- we are looking at the garden-- knowing it is soon time for that too.... although with all my reading on seeds / GMOs / Heriloom etc-- I am TOTALLY confused on what in the world we should do----

I am ready to start hanging out the laundry- as soon as some of the mud clears up so i don't fall on my face walking up the hill.

I really wanted to get back here and post a few updates as well--

Our Simply Charlotte Mason way of educating is going FABULOUSLY!! Oh my- it really has a flow to it-- I need to get more of a flow-- but I am very pleased....We get a lot done right at the breakfast table-- we do our hymn, Bible Memory, and Bible/ History lesson right at the table after breakfast. Then after breakfast they do some chores-- and then do their math, handwriting and reading independently. Starting next week i want to add in the Character study during lunch.. then after lunch when Stephen naps I work one on one with them checking their indpenendent work and listening to them read to me. Then we do a read aloud all together in the living room. I was going to add in a Science-- but I think right now with Spring-- Science is going to take care of itself!! ;)

The GNOWFGLINS e-course is going well too- I was getting a bit worried-- I totally didn't get ANYTHING done for week 2- "Soaking whole grains/nuts/ seeds" but last evening instead of doing blogging/ fb / email I sat down and did it-- and really learned a lot. Yes it would be easy to just "do" all the hands on making/baking-- but I want to REALLY understand WHY? The reasoning behind all the work..... So right now I have some almonds soaking and some brown rice soaking-- I'll post more about the results later.

Dh is wondering why my grain mill hasn't been turned on yet-- guess I better get busy in that department-- but I will-- because this week's lesson Week 3 is soaking baked goods....

With all the new things coming down the pike-- there are a few changes that MUST take place--

1- PLANNING ahead-- (meals, gardening, time)-- that is the only way-- however this week we attended Revival services at a local church-- and Sunday was a much needed sermon for ME-- "Let Jesus in the boat" -- quit trying to row so hard-- press into him-- let him lead-- LISTEN for Him--- yep-- that has been on my mind , in my heart all week--

2- Singing / playing taps over the TV -- Spring is here-- no more being "stuck' inside-- it needs covered till winter-- so that we can focus on WORK that needs ot be done. I had a pastor that was all about the seasons-- and Winter is to draw in-- rest-- Spring-- its time to COME Alive--

Well that is about all the time I have on here for today----

I'll leave you with this family picture my mom took this past weekend:
