Updates on the homefront...
Well-- 2 days ago I had SOOOO much I wanted to share here-- and just did not have a minute to sit down and type-- now I have a minute and my brain went on a break!! Go figure.
The highpoints include a date night with hubby on Saturday night-- our yearly date inbetween our birthdays... so that was VERY nice... the kids loved having Grandma and Grandad come and visit. We went out to dinner, to a movie (Blindside-- good-- buy why did they have to put 'garbage' in it-- it could've been a PEREFCTLY clean movie-- but nahh-- they put some trash in it). Then we went out for desert and coffee.... :)
Before hand we had some time to talk, as there was some discussion of us going to a hotel room and just RELAXING in QUIET and TALKING.. (I think Jason opted for a nice date-- not a planning meeting LOL)
But I am very pleased-- I always have 1 million things going thru my head-- and I REALLY DEPEND on Jason to fish thru and pick the ones that I / we should focus on... and he is REALLY good at that-- (when I don't over whelm him with the 1 million and FIRST thing!! :)
So we have some financial plans-- We have been looking and putting some offers in on homes-- but none are really perfect-- for our $$ we can either have a "nice" house and NO land, or "nice" land and a pityful house.... so we are going to REALLY work hard at sticking to a CASH budget (ME-- food--) and he is going to work 1 extra day a week and that is ONLY going to go to pay for the Van-- and it should then be paid in full in 5 months... It is short/long term goal all combined.. but will be VERY worth it!! So we sat down and re-looked at all our #'s and quite a few needed Jasons eagle eyes to fix make more accurate.
We also have outside / homestead plans-- we will be gardning-- we will use the black plastic method with 1 or 2 raised bed (due to $$). We will be taking care of what we have-- (pruning apple trees, new motor for lawn mower (vs. buying new), new stone in drive way, just a few odds and ends...to help this place work for a while longer....
To tie in both the financial nad homestead plans-- I brought it up to dear honey how much $$$$ we spend a MONTH on MILK (raw cow and raw goats for Rebekah) and it is almost 1/4 of my budget!! :0 Incredible amound-- and with 2 months of that price we could buy a YEARS worth of hay for 2-3 goats!! So I do think dairy goats are soon going to be in our future-- with maybe even a few boer (meat ) ones too...
In other news-- almost ALL our new school items have arrived. We began Genesis Through Deuteronomy , Ancient Egypt today....
All my new toys have arrived also. (now just learning how to use it all!!)
The e-course (GNOWFLIGNS) is on its second week starting today- last week was just a Back TO Basics kind of thing-- this week-- looks to be MUCH busier-- learning about soaking grains, seeds and nuts-- and WHY.
2 other quick things I wanted to share here:
I am WAY to busy-- but this sounds like such an AWESOME opporunity-- so nice all we can do from our homes now-- Evenings with Victoria Botkin
And-- a televison show I may just have to watch.... Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution
Gotta go feed the baby-- will try to add some pics to this post later--
