New Routine for Spring
Wow, who would've thought that I would enjoy waking at 4:30 AM!?! Not me-- and really the only way it is enjoyable is to be in bed by 9pm... (not 11pm as previously done).
What makes it enjoyable? Simply the fact that I have 3 (or a bit less) hours of QUIET--- time to have my time with the Lord.... time to have our meals planned/prepped for the day... time to get a few of my "servants" (appliances aka the washing machine) going.... and even a bit of time to do some blogging...and checking my MOMYS board.
Then it is outside time to get our animal chores done.. I wake the older 2 around 6:30 am.. and we head out to do the feeding/watering and milking of the goats and chickens. It is SOOOO beautiful outside that early... the birds are singing-- there is dew on the grass--- and the sun is just beginning to shine. Even on a rainy day it is beautiful. (will it be this enjoyable in December/January?? it will be beautiful-- but COLD).
So that is our EARLY morning routine-- then we come in and I tend to the 3 younger ones (dressing, laughing, tickling) upstairs (and putting away the previous days laundry). While the older 2 finish up their morning chores (dishes put away, trash taken out, etc) and start their school work (1 math lesson, 1 handwriting assignment).
By that time DADDY is home from work-- and we have a nice breakfast as a family. (I am so THANKFUL for this time-- couldn't imagine not having it). Before we get up from the table we have our morning Bible Reading (either the day's Proverbs our part of our CM study from Genesis- Deuteronomy)...and Catcheism and finally our Hymn. Let me share with you-- our hymn is MY FAVORITE PART... why? Because each of my children (right down to Rebekah) holds her little piece of sheet music and they ALL SING LOUDLY-- (some cannot read-- so they just SING) and it is LOUD-- and it is BEAUTIFUL--
I throughly enjoy my mornings now that I am up and productive early.
After this-- they day tends to unravel a bit-- and that is okay-- we do what ever needs done (inside or out) until about 12:30-- then we break for lunch (our big meal of the day) and then we tuck daddy and the littles in for a nap-- and the older 2 and I begin some 1 on 1 school time.
Glad you are back. I do have issues with facebook too. I find I end up there way to often. I now have a timer by the computer and I have 20 minutes in the morning to check facebook and look over my favorite blogs. I perfer the blogs over facebook. I love to soak in their good information. Blogs are so much more inspiring than facebook! So yes, I am glad you are back!
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean about the 4 am thing. I love it! It sounds like your family is flourishing. :-)
