Surfs Up Continues

I do love sharing what I read-- whether anyone likes it or not-- maybe its just for my reference later--- So I will do an end of the week re-cap of things I liked....

Today I just have to share 2 that I read this morning--

This one made me LAUGH out LOUD--as she usually does-- her description of the homeschool conference is LOL....

FPEA is the Mecca of homeschool conferences. That’s a lot of denim jumpers in one building. You should see it. There are oodles of vans in the parking lot. It looks like the entire airport shuttle service got impounded.

AND one more QUICK QUOTE-- so TRUE-- thankfully we changed curriculm in January-- so no planning for me this time around.

the time has come where all the homeschool types start talking about curriculum. It’s more fun to talk about next year than to actually finish this year. Ahem.



And OF COURSE this one is CLOSE to my heart!!

They think I’m “Fertile Myrtle” but they should only see, these goats don’t have a thing on me–this baby’s number three (at a time, that is)!

AND

It’s a simple life we live, with its share of dirt and grime,

Oh my these letters have been SOOOOO  encouraging to me like NOTHING else. She inspired me to spend my morning with the Lord, waiting on Him, listening to Him. She inspired me to love my husband and put him right after the Lord She inspired me to raise and love and train my children in many areas And lastly she even touched on keeping my home, to bring honor to the Lord. Immigrant 1880-1914 food budget

So we went on a mini field trip this weekend to the Johnstown Flood Museum and then to the Heritage Center -- "Through Immigrant Eyes, tells a national story in a local context. It captures the imaginations of visitors through its innovative use of interactive media. Rather than simply looking at artifacts, you'll actually experience the sights, sounds and even the smells of immigrants' daily lives, and come away with a more complete understanding of the sacrifices and achievements of these Americans in the making. As you enter, you'll choose a card with a photo of one of eight immigrant characters, who are fictional composites based on historical facts. You then experience the daily life of that character as you tour the museum. Day Book

The best way to get back in (for me) is a Day Book. I'm not sure if they even still have a "Simple Woman's Day Book" or not, but I always enjoyed them. Daybook for the week of June 12, 2016 Picture for the week........                                                The birthday boy -  He turned 12 on Saturday-- ( this picture is from Thanksgiving though, I haven't down loaded my phone pictures yet though.  ) Outside my window.....
