This is what I found when I picked my daughter up at a dear friends house, after she watched some of my children while I took Jason to the oral surgeon.


This is what I found-- from my dear friend-- who has 6 girls and 1 boy- ME? I couldn't get her hair to do this to save my life-- let alone get her to KEEP IT IN!!!
Ahh the differences between raising boys vs. girls!!


PS: I think it is THE CUTEST thing when Stephen says "Rebekah you are sooo cute"!!


PPS: She doesn't have dirt under her nose-- 2 days ago she FELL out the front door onto the cement and has a good brush burn....

Immigrant 1880-1914 food budget

So we went on a mini field trip this weekend to the Johnstown Flood Museum and then to the Heritage Center -- "Through Immigrant Eyes, tells a national story in a local context. It captures the imaginations of visitors through its innovative use of interactive media. Rather than simply looking at artifacts, you'll actually experience the sights, sounds and even the smells of immigrants' daily lives, and come away with a more complete understanding of the sacrifices and achievements of these Americans in the making. As you enter, you'll choose a card with a photo of one of eight immigrant characters, who are fictional composites based on historical facts. You then experience the daily life of that character as you tour the museum. Day Book

The best way to get back in (for me) is a Day Book. I'm not sure if they even still have a "Simple Woman's Day Book" or not, but I always enjoyed them. Daybook for the week of June 12, 2016 Picture for the week........                                                The birthday boy -  He turned 12 on Saturday-- ( this picture is from Thanksgiving though, I haven't down loaded my phone pictures yet though.  ) Outside my window.....
