Surfs Up- October SOMETHING

I have no idea what today is--- when I packed up my dinning room I took down the calendar...not the best idea in the world. (Don't worry the main calendar in the kitchen is still up)

Anyway--when I read THIS blog entry-- on FARM LIFE-- I had to laugh and share it here. Amy moved to the country (actually an Amish country) very near the time we started our more "homestead" type lifestyle.... so it has been great fun to read her blog. Anyway-- she had an entry entitled "A Long Ramble About Stuff Dying on our Farm". Priceless---

And one more to share- from Liberation Wellness-- "If Bumper stickers reflect the way people REALLY Think" No words-- the bumper stickers say it ALL!!

Lastly--- I've never made a good Frittata-- but these seem like simple directions-- LUNCH tomorrow maybe??

3 Years, it has been 3 years since I have updated this blog. Hoping to continue to journal our happenings. First I wanted to leave a link for Laine's Letters. Oh my these letters have been SOOOOO  encouraging to me like NOTHING else. She inspired me to spend my morning with the Lord, waiting on Him, listening to Him. She inspired me to love my husband and put him right after the Lord She inspired me to raise and love and train my children in many areas And lastly she even touched on keeping my home, to bring honor to the Lord. Immigrant 1880-1914 food budget

So we went on a mini field trip this weekend to the Johnstown Flood Museum and then to the Heritage Center -- "Through Immigrant Eyes, tells a national story in a local context. It captures the imaginations of visitors through its innovative use of interactive media. Rather than simply looking at artifacts, you'll actually experience the sights, sounds and even the smells of immigrants' daily lives, and come away with a more complete understanding of the sacrifices and achievements of these Americans in the making. As you enter, you'll choose a card with a photo of one of eight immigrant characters, who are fictional composites based on historical facts. You then experience the daily life of that character as you tour the museum. Day Book

The best way to get back in (for me) is a Day Book. I'm not sure if they even still have a "Simple Woman's Day Book" or not, but I always enjoyed them. Daybook for the week of June 12, 2016 Picture for the week........                                                The birthday boy -  He turned 12 on Saturday-- ( this picture is from Thanksgiving though, I haven't down loaded my phone pictures yet though.  ) Outside my window..... Things are green, and showers today have made my garden very happy I am thinking..... About starting in with some school for the kids next week. About dipping our feet in with some potty training.
