Gaps, Stretching a chicken, Cauliflower
A few kichen links:
This is a GREAT post on how to prepare for the GAPS diet. I am still not convinced we should not follow this-- but it is VERY intimidating. Many in our church have followed this and have seen excellent results.....

I thought this was a great post on how to stretch a chicken to 6 meals (for a family of 6)... by Heavenly Homemakers. The key-- DON'T serve roast chicken as a main meal!! (great idea)
I finally had a great kitchen week.
My sourdough is still not working-- well-- i should say-- I threw it away (it molded) and I haven't attempted it again-- but we really needed some type of bread-- so I made a SOAKED (with yogurt) Spelt Bread-- and it is DELICIOUS-- and FLUFFY-- and GOOD!! SO maybe we will have to stick with some SOAKED breads for right now.
I also FINALLY got my hm yogurt to work out... the key-- which I fought and fought- heating up your raw milk first!! I didn't want to do that-- heating raw milk-- just seems so WRONG!! But the bacterias between the raw and the yogurt culture BATTLE and you do not get a GOOD THICK YOGURT. So I heated mine to 140' let it cool to 110' added my culture and in the morning I had a DELICIOUS THICK YOGURT!!!!!!!!!
The bad kitchen news-- we FINALLY ran out of our frozen goat milk storage-- I will now have to buy until the end of March. :( ($9 gallon!!) Thankfully only Rebekah and Nathan will drink this bought milk-- and they are really still drinking a lot of herbal tea-- so it will stretch FAR (I hope).
With our meatloaf the otherday I made this-- Mashed Cauliflower-- it was good-- I needed to add more butter and salt-- but it was good-- I ate mine with my saurkraut and it was DELICIOUS!! **I ofcourse made mine with butter not a spread as called for in the recipe**
Now for this week-- to get Zachary's birthday meals planned out-- :)
