GET IN THE WORD this year!!

Here are 2 EXCELLENT opportunities to GET IN THE WORD this year.

I am SOOOO excited about both--

The first is-- MEMORIZE the ENTIRE BOOK OF COLOSSIANS in 2011!! Sounds impossible-- it is only 2 vereses a WEEK!! (not a day-- a week!) Here is the plan over at A Holy Experience!!! We are doing this as a family-- if you would like to join in-- leave a comment-- I'd love to hear and encourage you!!

And the second -- easy but very effective way to get in the word this year-- is the Book of James- doing 2 verses a day-- with the SOAP method!!
Check it out here-- at Good Morning Girls-- 2 verses a day-- who can't do that!?!?! And I just started today-- but todays 2 verses left me with something BIG to chew on!! What is SOAP?

1. S- Write out the scripture passage for the day.

2. O- Write down 1 or 2 observations from the passage.

3. A- Write down 1-2 applications from the passage.

4. P- Pray over what you learned from today’s passage.

By the end of the 12 weeks, you will have written out the entire book of James in your journal. You will have meditated on every single verse in James as you have written it out and pondered each verse bit by bit.

Oh my these letters have been SOOOOO  encouraging to me like NOTHING else. She inspired me to spend my morning with the Lord, waiting on Him, listening to Him. Immigrant 1880-1914 food budget

So we went on a mini field trip this weekend to the Johnstown Flood Museum and then to the Heritage Center -- "Through Immigrant Eyes, tells a national story in a local context. It captures the imaginations of visitors through its innovative use of interactive media. Rather than simply looking at artifacts, you'll actually experience the sights, sounds and even the smells of immigrants' daily lives, and come away with a more complete understanding of the sacrifices and achievements of these Americans in the making. You then experience the daily life of that character as you tour the museum. Day Book

The best way to get back in (for me) is a Day Book. I'm not sure if they even still have a "Simple Woman's Day Book" or not, but I always enjoyed them. Daybook for the week of June 12, 2016 Picture for the week........                                                The birthday boy -  He turned 12 on Saturday-- ( this picture is from Thanksgiving though, I haven't down loaded my phone pictures yet though.  ) Outside my window.....
