Memorize Colossians-- even a 3 year old can do it...

So we are doing "well" on our plan to Memorize Colossians in a year.. we are on vs. 5 and 6.

I am just so impressed how young children can do it-- here is our little Stephen (3) with verses 1-3!!

Here is a video of Rebekah trying as well-- she ALWAYS wants to try-- she isn't able to talk very clearly yet-- so that high pitched noise is mainly her WHINING and yet trying to say it.... the no High-5 at the end!!?? She has been quite a "unhappy" little girl for the last 48 hours-- hope it passes SOON!!

    You are inspiring me. . . I saw when Ann first posted this and kept thinking I should do it with the kids. . . but have been so busy lately. Reading this makes me really want to do it, though! Do you want to share how you go about memorizing verses as a family? We do some with school. . . and my dd has memorized probably hundreds from listening to Bible CD's. . . but my kiddos are still all little and it can be challenging.

Immigrant 1880-1914 food budget

So we went on a mini field trip this weekend to the Johnstown Flood Museum and then to the Heritage Center -- "Through Immigrant Eyes, tells a national story in a local context. It captures the imaginations of visitors through its innovative use of interactive media. Rather than simply looking at artifacts, you'll actually experience the sights, sounds and even the smells of immigrants' daily lives, and come away with a more complete understanding of the sacrifices and achievements of these Americans in the making. Day Book

The best way to get back in (for me) is a Day Book. I'm not sure if they even still have a "Simple Woman's Day Book" or not, but I always enjoyed them.
