Washington DC

Last weekend we had a GREAT time in Washington DC with our oldest 2 sons and our 2 nephews....

We were able to go to the TOP of the Washington Monument-- AWESOME-- great view-- it was great-- being off season we got tickets at 10:30 am....
The first day our first trip was to the AIR and SPACE Museum--

Here is a REAL MOON ROCK the kids got to touch!!
Here is Joshua with Amelia Earhart-- this was one of his top 3 GOALS for Washington DC-- (thanks to Night at the Museum movie)

Here are ALL the boys with Amelia... :)

Here is the nose of a plane the boys got to go inside

Here is Zachary sitting inside a Cessna

They had a very neat HANDS on ROOM where Jason did many "experiements" and learning with them-- (me... not to into science-- so I just stood back and watched.... )

More neat science hands on exhibits

Zachary doing some "hands on" learning

This was a scale-- to see what you weigh on Earth, the Moon and Jupiter-- Jason would weigh 25lbs on the moon!!

While waiting 45 minutes for the Washington Monument we walked a few blocks to see the White House. We didn't request our tickets in time to see INSIDE-- maybe next time.

Me with the kids infront of the White House

Our second visit on day 1 was the American History Museum-- not at all what I was expecting-- but neat none the less.....
Here was a replica of the Titanic-- (which we will be reading about soon for school)

They had a Julia Child exhibit with her kitchen layout-- so of course I LOVED that--

Here is her kitchen-- it was so neat

Day 2 we did lots of walking-- we walked down to the Lincoln Memorial-- (Joshua's 2nd DC goal) it was a VERY neat to see up close!

Very NEAT

Walking back from the Lincoln Monument headed towards the Natural History Museum.....
Some walked fast so they could rest....

Some brought up the rear.... LOL

REXY (from Night at the Museum)-- Joshua met all 3 of his Washington DC goals---
ME!?! I HATED this place-- it drove me nuts-- almost gave me HIVES!! It was SOOOOO FULL of EVOLUTION..... they even had banners- "Support our work of Evolution" or whatever-- we walked thru this FAST-- at the end-- in the gift shop-- I told MY BOYS-- "I will NOT be spending 1 red cent in this place" Sorry-- but it was SICKNING-- not even hidden-- and secret-- oh no Evolution is the KEY WORD for this place.

And that was our trip!
