In my kitchen today... and a few more GAPS articles

Certainly NOT everyday can look like this.... but today is Jason's day off and he and the boys are working on my raised beds!! So I spent a little extra time in the kitchen today....

First up- KALE CHIPS!! YUMMM-o!

Then-- some chicken liver patte'.

I took the recipe from a booklet "Healthy 4 Life" Dietary Guidelines from the Weston A PRice Foundation. (not the recipe from NT-- I didn't have those ingredients)

Then some CARROT Cake-- from the GAPS Guide book-- no flour-- just cooked carrotts...and some coconut (not flour, shredded).

For breakfast we had Squash cakes-- and they were good-- our family liked THIS recipe the best... (*I didn't have coconut milk, I used goats milk)

**Which by the way reminds me-- I so have NOT been following the proper GAPS diet-- do you know what HUGE thing I was missing????????

MILK-- I have NOT stopped giving my kids goat milk!! Now some would say-- who cares-- but milk is one of our SORE SPOTS I am hoping to HEAL thru this diet-- so starting TOMORROW-- we will only be doing 24 hour cultured goats milk. (once I culture some today). I can't beleive I totally didn't even THINK about those sippy cups of goats milk I have been handing out every monring. LOL

We fried the cakes in Beef Tallow- YUMMMMY

I love this blog, I just found it. Her before/afer pics (GAPS) are amazing!! Hse was MUCH more careful on her dinner out than I was yesterday!!

The Healthy Home Economist had 2 great articles on GAPS too...

The 5 Most Common GAPS Diet Mistakes-- (and no she didn't mention my MILK MIX UP!!) She did mention the probiotic--which I am not doing-- oooops!!
