PLAINTAIN Salve-----




chop up a bunch of plantain (broad leaf or narrow leaf - doesn't matter) and fill a jar with it. You don't need to tamp it down; just put it in loose. Then cover with olive oil, leaving about 1/2" head-space. Cover with a paper towe...l rubber-banded to keep it in place. Stir it once a day for about 10 days to release the bubbles. After 6 weeks you can strain it through several layers of cheesecloth and use it as it is or make a salve with beeswax. You can use it on insect bites, poison ivy, scratches and cuts, diaper rash, etc.
