2011-2012 School Year has begun

Well our school year started last Tuesday. I wasn't sure how it would go so I didn't post-- but we are now on week 2 and I am THRILLED!!

We are back with WEAVER.
We are starting with Volume 3 this year. (truth be told I skipped the last HUGE chapter of Volume 2-- it overwhelmed me so we are starting FRESH... there will be time for Vol 2 later.)

Volume 3 will take us back into the Old Testament where we will be studying in the books of Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1Samuel with a tiny bit of new testament mixed in.


The key for me and Weaver... is to STAY connected with the Lord. REALLY!!
I know this is what the Lord wants for me-- and probably because as soon as my eyes are taken off Him-- I fall-- right down-- I've tried many other things-- and they are only a band-aid. When I am CONNECTED with HIM-- and we are WEAVERING thru His Word... it is such a blessing-- and things just FLOW!!!

So here are a few pictures of our studies today-- today was EXPERIEMENT DAY!! ;)

Oh my these letters have been SOOOOO  encouraging to me like NOTHING else. She inspired me to spend my morning with the Lord, waiting on Him, listening to Him. Immigrant 1880-1914 food budget

So we went on a mini field trip this weekend to the Johnstown Flood Museum and then to the Heritage Center -- "Through Immigrant Eyes, tells a national story in a local context. It captures the imaginations of visitors through its innovative use of interactive media. Rather than simply looking at artifacts, you'll actually experience the sights, sounds and even the smells of immigrants' daily lives, and come away with a more complete understanding of the sacrifices and achievements of these Americans in the making. As you enter, you'll choose a card with a photo of one of eight immigrant characters, who are fictional composites based on historical facts. You then experience the daily life of that character as you tour the museum. Day Book

The best way to get back in (for me) is a Day Book. I'm not sure if they even still have a "Simple Woman's Day Book" or not, but I always enjoyed them. Daybook for the week of June 12, 2016 Picture for the week........                                                The birthday boy -  He turned 12 on Saturday-- ( this picture is from Thanksgiving though, I haven't down loaded my phone pictures yet though.  ) Outside my window.....
