Barn Hop- Natural Farm Living

I have really enjoyed a few shows I have been able to listen to on the PRN- Blog Radio program.

The one-- "Basics of Natural Farm Living with Mrs. Joseph Wood" I have listened to 3x (mostly because I am washing dishes or working and didn't get to SIT and listen..) but one day for school we called it a VETERINARY science day and Zachary and I sat and took notes.

Mrs. Joseph Wood-- had an excellent program on the BASICS of Natural FARM Living. As a mother of 11 I was very excited to hear what she had to share.

I just got done typing up my notes (2 pages) of great ideas.

Yesterday the boys and I went out and even put some into practice.

We had learned of using Diatomaceous Earth as a real help in Parasite control for ALL farm animals. A few weeks ago, but it was nice that it was also on this program.... it confirmed it in our minds. It seems some like to leave it out free choice and some mix it in the feed. We have done both-- right now we are doing the free choice with DE and Kelp.

We also added the DE and Kelp to the chickens feed... I had never done this before.

We also went out and added some RAW Apple Cider Vinegar to EVERYONE's Water.... across the board.

To be daring, I also took Mrs. Woods suggestion of the garlic/ shredded carotts for the goats-- but they were NOT at ALL interested in that-- well atleast the ones in milk were not-- some of the female kids.....ate it.... so all was not lost.

This radio program also inspired me to sell some kids that we do not need. We currently have 3 goats in milk (one very old goat who will not be re-bred this year) and then we kept our 3 female goats born this spring-- but really we only need 1 at best--- so it is time to sell the other 2.

The male kids (weathered now) will not be sold-- they will go to the freezer when they are old enough......

I could go on and on-- but I wont-- I really have enjoyed a few other programs at the PRN Network-- So many gardening, preparedness and other topics....

So excited to be part of the Homestead Revival's BARN HOP #23 .... head on over to see many more topics!! A wealth of information----

One of our "weathered kids"

2 of our female kids born this spring...

The Money maker of the farm-- not due to selling milk-- but due to selling kids each year to help things continue to "roll" as they should.... never thought of it like that before... (yes I am a little green behind the ears still....) lol
