A Godly Home-- and changes for me...

So a few weeks ago a friend was clearing her bookselves and had an old tape set called "The Godly Home". (they were cassette tapes to tell you how "old" they are/were).

However the title caught my attention and I thought-- hmmm worth a listen....

Can I just tell you how SUPER SUPER convicting and life changing these are?? Or have been for me!?!?!? REALLY!! It has been a long time since I have been SOOO very convicted in many areas.......

Jason wanted to see if we could get them on CD or MP3-- and so after a quick search I was able to find them-- and they are even updated now!!

They are NOT copyrighted and they encourage you to share/pass along--- which I hope to do as well. Well worth checking out- "The Godly Home" by Denny Kenaston.

So if you don't see me around here as much-- and you will notice my side bar of "favorites has been GREATLY reduced--- I am learning to APPLY some of what I am learning vs. continuing to LEARN, LEARN, LEARN, LEARN and become overwhelmed with everything I could/should/would do---- and spinning in circles..... I am SLOWING down-- and applying some of the VERY important things----

I do want to continue here with my udpates as this is really just "MY HOMESTEAD diary" to look back on and to keep grandparents updated.... (w/ pictures).

Oh my these letters have been SOOOOO  encouraging to me like NOTHING else. She inspired me to spend my morning with the Lord, waiting on Him, listening to Him. Immigrant 1880-1914 food budget

So we went on a mini field trip this weekend to the Johnstown Flood Museum and then to the Heritage Center -- "Through Immigrant Eyes, tells a national story in a local context. It captures the imaginations of visitors through its innovative use of interactive media. Rather than simply looking at artifacts, you'll actually experience the sights, sounds and even the smells of immigrants' daily lives, and come away with a more complete understanding of the sacrifices and achievements of these Americans in the making. As you enter, you'll choose a card with a photo of one of eight immigrant characters, who are fictional composites based on historical facts. You then experience the daily life of that character as you tour the museum. Day Book

The best way to get back in (for me) is a Day Book. I'm not sure if they even still have a "Simple Woman's Day Book" or not, but I always enjoyed them. Daybook for the week of June 12, 2016 Picture for the week........                                                The birthday boy -  He turned 12 on Saturday-- ( this picture is from Thanksgiving though, I haven't down loaded my phone pictures yet though.  ) Outside my window.....
