GAPS Day 2 & 3

Well here we are on day 3-- we are all doing very well!! I am so happy.
I cannot tell you how good I feel on GAPS vs. when I start getting those TERRIBLE carb CRAVINGS and CRASHES!! :(
Not to mention I have already lost 4lbs!! (not at all doing this for weight-- but I do need to lose)

So first off-- as I am typing this I do have the SLIGHTEST headache-- but that is because today is day 2 of only TEA in the mornings-- no coffee!! I did take myself off gradually-- from a POT a day-- then 2 cups a day-- then 2 cups of 1/2 caff and then now regular CAFFENATED tea. Then TOMORROW when my Bulk Herb Store order comes with my YUMMMMY Ginger Snap Tea - I will move over to the good-- caffeine free teas!!

Just an added note-- a move I made last fall when all my little ones were drinking teas (due to colds ) I started making them in the coffee maker-- makes it much easier to get 6 cups of tea ready to go-- and often I'll run another pot of water thru-- and get double the tea out!!

**if they are very ill and it is an herbal tea-- I will sometimes not do it this way-- I will steep it overnight in a bowl with the loose herbs**


I haven't added much about little Rachel and her food. I had bought her 2 boxes of the "organic" baby cereal-- but oh I just didn't feel a peace about it knowing the problems my last 2 have had with their grains-- so I have moved her over to a GAPS friendly plan-- she gets broth thru a dropper (i do not want to introduce bottles) and then she has been getting a good bit of applesauce (maybe need to cut back)- for breakfast today she had some applesauce, pumpkin puree (hm) and coconut oil all mixed together warmed on the stove-- It was YUMMMY-- (I had to check it you know... lol) For lunch she had 2 egg yolks mixed with applesauce (my others never ate the yolks..they are kinda yucky even with milk/yogurt etc...but the applesauce made that too YUMMY!



So my husband is home today (Monday is our Saturday) and he was hungry-- for snack-- easy fast snack- Hard Boiled Eggs--

**WARNING** Deep dark secret-- I am not perfect-- so when the guys left to go get hay today-- I made myself a little mixture of seeds (trail mix) and some peanutbutter-- only about 3TBS but it was DELICIOUS!!!!! Oh my!!! (not the best pb I know-- but hey when baking or whatever I use the reallly good stuff-- when I am eating it with a spoon-- I like this stuff-- we have both)



This was breakfast (trying to keep my boys from CRYING over eggs everyday) it was baked apples with some almonds, cinnamon and cider all whirled together in the food processor... YUMMMMM0 this is the little bit of leftovers for hubby's lunch at work. I cannot beleive how delcious those almonds were. My husband LOVES LOVES LOVES when I make apple crisp-- so this was a GAPS version. (he did miss the sugar I usually add -- but we are all making changes)



This was yesterday's breakfast- Squash pancakes... I didn't have any syrup... so this is coconut oil and honey melted together and BRUSHED on top... YUMMM






So there you have it-- the rest of the meals were just stock soup and stock soup.

Today we are over to Chicken stock-- then in 2 days we will be back to beef (the beef bones are in the oven right now)-- wondering if I should by a Roaster... to save on energy vs. using my STOVE and oven ALL the time!? Any ideas....
