A Controlling Wife and Mom- Terri Maxwell











My piece of HUMBLE PIE today-- This pretty much sums up what I needed to hear....

God is so good-- so gentle-- so patient with me......

I love when he *almost* speaks audioably to me-- like today-- he couldn't have communicated MORE clearly....


It's not a personality issue-- as much as it is: pride & sin & CONTROL!!

I need to PRAY more and PUSH to CONTROL less....

Her committment to CONFESS EACH TIME and repent of the pride-- to replace with humbleness & patience and gentleness.

Her comment of "The more I control, the more the help of the Lord Jesus, which I desperately need, is unavailable to me because of my pride." was very eye opening!!

Am I being selfish and inconveicenced.... or am I seeing these opportunities to HELP, TEACH and have patience and gentleness with my children?????

I do want to serve my family with a GENTLE spirit, PATIENT heart and a QUIET voice!!

I am so thankful for the Maxwell family minsitry-- God Bless them-- and if you ever have the opportunity to hear them speak-- GO!

Oh my these letters have been SOOOOO  encouraging to me like NOTHING else. She inspired me to spend my morning with the Lord, waiting on Him, listening to Him. Immigrant 1880-1914 food budget

So we went on a mini field trip this weekend to the Johnstown Flood Museum and then to the Heritage Center -- "Through Immigrant Eyes, tells a national story in a local context. It captures the imaginations of visitors through its innovative use of interactive media. Rather than simply looking at artifacts, you'll actually experience the sights, sounds and even the smells of immigrants' daily lives, and come away with a more complete understanding of the sacrifices and achievements of these Americans in the making. The best way to get back in (for me) is a Day Book. I'm not sure if they even still have a "Simple Woman's Day Book" or not, but I always enjoyed them. Daybook for the week of June 12, 2016 Picture for the week........                                                The birthday boy -  He turned 12 on Saturday-- ( this picture is from Thanksgiving though, I haven't down loaded my phone pictures yet though.  ) Outside my window.....
