Activated Charcoal...

Activated Charcoal is my NEW best friend to have on hand....




The week of Christmas Stephen got the tummy bug of some sort-- after 3 times of SEEING the bug--- I got out my handy dandy little copy of "Be Your Own Doctor"....and saw the Activated Charcoal is good for PULLING the toxins out.... so I mixed up a qt of charcoal water-- and had him drink 1/2 cup..... He never threw up again!! I drank some too because I wanted to be sure it wasn't toooo gross, and also because I was feeling a little ill (but it might have been from just seeing him being ill....lol)

Later that night Rachel threw up 2x-- so I gave her a few droppers of the water-- and I again took another 1/2 cup for preventive measure.

The next morning I had everone take a shot at breakfast-- and NO ONE threw up again!! Ahhh I am so happy!!

** I bought my charcoal at The Bulk Herb Store-- BE CAREFUL what charcoal you use!!! It is not the stuff you burn!!!!!

Immigrant 1880-1914 food budget

So we went on a mini field trip this weekend to the Johnstown Flood Museum and then to the Heritage Center -- "Through Immigrant Eyes, tells a national story in a local context. It captures the imaginations of visitors through its innovative use of interactive media. Rather than simply looking at artifacts, you'll actually experience the sights, sounds and even the smells of immigrants' daily lives, and come away with a more complete understanding of the sacrifices and achievements of these Americans in the making. Day Book

The best way to get back in (for me) is a Day Book. I'm not sure if they even still have a "Simple Woman's Day Book" or not, but I always enjoyed them. Daybook for the week of June 12, 2016 Picture for the week........                                                The birthday boy -  He turned 12 on Saturday-- ( this picture is from Thanksgiving though, I haven't down loaded my phone pictures yet though.  ) Outside my window.....
