Another Spring Update

Must start this post with my "resident" "in trainning" FARMER.... :) Isn't he so cute? oh ahem.. I mean HANDSOME!!!

Our broilers are OUT and loving it---- more about that later--- the pictures did not upload the way I wanted but I love seeing them peck the ground--- so much better than those OLD NASTY WHITE FAT THINGS that just sit at the feeder and lie down and eat--that is ALL they do-- these ones ACT LIKE CHICKENS!!!

I *think* mint!! Smells like it-- right off our REAL front porch.....

I *think* strawberry plants.....time will tell I guess....
We know the previous renters planted some-- and I dug these out--they were COVERED with weeds!!

Onions poking out

Lettuce poking out too

After watching "Back to Eden" I am using the hay as insulation and covering... so far it is working WONDERFULLY!

Little Rachel--- teething--- but really loving her swing....

The other littles having fun on the porch.... quite a traffic jam most days!! :)

We had 1 baby bunny... Not convinced there weren't more--- because this mamma rabbit is up in the chicken house where we are losing eggs EVERY DAY to a RAT!!! Trying our best to get him-- any good ideas out there!?!?!?

I had to go back and post a pic of the CLEAN chicken house my boys cleaned out...I am so thankful!!!

The finished chicken tractor/broiler pen

Rachel checking the sturdiness of the tractor--- :) :)

Nathan testing out the strength too....

Looking good!!!

I won't tell you how bad it got after this--- but lets just say Jason and boys built it twice....

We called this day our 3 "L" day- to "Learn" "LOVE" and "Laugh"

It went alright until the very end-- then not so much laughing...... but LOTS of learning.
